Unconventional Angel Lady

In the past 2 weeks, after a couple of Windows Critical Updates, I find that
when I go to certain sites, I can't access some pages.........for example:

I need to order some Priority Mail Shipping supplies from USPS.com. I sign
in correctly, put my items in the shopping cart, and ask to go to checkout.
Wham, I'm right back to sign in, and everything I have ordered is wiped out.
No matter what settings I have tried to adjust, this happens. For 2 weeks,
I have been unable to access the checkout page to get my supplies.

Now it is happening in Ebay. I have to reboot almost constantly to get to my
favorites page, or even my own page with Ebay.

I am frustrated. Can anyone suggest what needs to be done??/

I have probably read 1000 messages today trying to find someone who answered
this problem for someone else.

Thanks for your help!

I am using Windows ME and have done all the critical updates.

Check this Java setting.

tools/internet options/advanced/Microsoft VM - only tick
the JIT compiler
box and leave the Java boxes un checked (default)

Hope these are not required

Sandi ------------ I feel so foolish. I can't remember the command to get
to C drive from A drive. I've been looking for 2 days for this silly
command, and I must just be overlooking it, but I can't figure it out.

I've been rebooting using the boot disk...which gets me into A drive.

I have not had luck rebooting without the boot disk.

Thank you!

At the A:\ prompt type C: and press enter. That's C <colon> <enter>

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, that was what I had already tried, but I tried again, and it
still doesn't work.

I'm wondering why .... I have a Gateway E-1400 and running Windows ME.

Is there a code or something that Gateway may have entered???

Man, am I frustrated.

I am getting a bad feeling here. Restart your computer and see if the drive is
even being detected. Is the disk you are using, a proper Windows ME boot disk?
The next time you are at the A:\ prompt, type;
dir c:\
I have a feeling that you are going to get a volume not found error.
