I have a laptop that is running Win 2K with the Cisco VPN Client 4.0.2. This
machine is for an agent out in the field so they will either be 1) working
standalone on the laptop, 2) working while connected to the Internet, or 3)
working while connected through the VPN. Here's my problem: I want to run a
login script as soon as they authenticate to our network through the VPN
client.
In an effort to achieve this objective I have changed the VPN client so that
it starts before logon. This would work except for one minor problem. If I
try to log into the machine standalone (ie not connected to the Internet or
VPN) my machine hangs on login. If I connect my network cable to the machine
and just login without touching the VPN client everything works fine. If I
connect to the VPN through my dial-up connection and then log into Windows
everything works as well (including running my login script).
I have another machine configured with a similar setup and all scenarios
work as expected. Does anyone know what might be causing my problem? Or does
anyone have a better way to achieve my objective of running a login script
when authenticating to our network through the VPN client?
Thanks for any help.
