Is there anyone out there that can help answer why and what I can do to
resolve and stop IE from shutting down whenever I try to access different
websites? I'm on XP Prof. I am up to date on all windows securities
downloads, constantly running different spyware detection programs, have
tried researching this problem through MS database articles and
NOTHING....NADDA....ZILCH. One microsoft article recognised this problem
and there's a link but it's for millineum. I called MSN (my ISP) and they
told me that the problem must be with XP that's installed on my computer.
Problem is, when I had my computer upgraded through a local repair shop, they
upgraded me from 98 to xp and I don't have any discs. I called the shop
today (one year later now) and they will try to see what's wrong for
$75/hour. I gave them over $375 last year and this problem is recent so I'm
suspicious that it may be another program that's interefering, possibly
or.....I don't know. Before I'm taken for more money that I can ill afford,
is there anyone out there that can help me resolve this?

Is this true or is there someone who know what I can and should do?

You were screwed a year ago - no one should have installed XP on your system
without providing you with a restore CD of some kind.

Service Pack 2 came out over two weeks ago. Did it automatically install and
update your system? If not, then did you try to download and install it
yourself? SP2 will upgrade IE6 so it is to your advantage to install it; if
it is able to install on your system and doesn't check and then tell you you
have an illegal copy.

Since you don't have a CD of any kind your only other recourse is to beat
the crap out of the people that installed the, maybe, illegal copy or go buy
your own full copy at a computer software store.
