Help! When I open Word, I sometimes get a "request virus check" and, after a
short pause, I can operate fine.
BUT sometimes the screen goes gray and things jam up, closing the document
and creating a fraking mess. It also sends me me to a "report error" box. I
report the error but of course that does no good. I ask for help in the box
but of course get no reply. When I use that box for assistance, Microsoft
tells me the problem is I have Windows 2000. I have Windows XP.
What causes the "request virus check"? I sure never request it! And, more
importantly, how can I get rid of the damned thing?
