When I receive some emails in Outlook 2002, their content is blank. Also
when I send messages they have a blank content.

Can anybody explain this? Outlook Express is OK.

Hi,

I am not an expert in Outlook or OE.

But part of your question is bizarre:
«when I send messages they have a blank content.»

How come? Why do you send blank messages?

I didn't get it? Maybe you should be more explicit so we can understand
your question. Maybe that's why you recieved no answer yet.

Alain,

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my plea for help!!

OK, here is more detail.

Some messages that I receive seem to have no content, they have a subject,
but the message body is blank, however, the people who sent me the email say
it had content and if I look at the email in Outlook Express, I can see the
message body.

Also, the reverse seems to happen when I type out a message and send it, the
people who I send it to can see the subject, but not the content, no matter
which email client they are using. I think this has something to do with
the email format setup, but I think I have tried every combination possible,
including reinstalling Outlook.

I am completely stumped about this one and am having to use OE, which is OK
for personal use, but not for business, as I synchronise my Outlook with my
PDA for appointments and email.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply to my query.

Cheers,

Adam

Hi,

See if I understand the problem:

A- When you receive messages with Outlook, message body is empty; but
same messages handled by Outlook Express have a visible Message text.

B- You write some messages with Outlook and Addressee sees empty message
body; when message is written with Outlook Express, messages are viewed
OK by addressees.

Ok up to now?

You add:

«I think this has something to do with the email format setup»

Please be more specific: what editor are you using to view? to write?
What setups are you using? What version of Windows? of Outlook? of
Outlook Express?

Next step might be that you describe how you write and send messages?
How you receive messages?

Good luck.

Alain

Alain,

Your understanding of the problem is correct.

I am using Windows XP, with Outlook 2002 (10.2627.2625)

Alain,

You are correct in your problem analysis.

I am using:-

Windows XP
Outlook 2002 (10.2627.2625)
Compose in HTML
Use Word to edit e-mail messages
Use Word to read RTF messages

On sub-panel
Send using Outlook RTF format

Also, Outlook Express 6

Hope this helps!!

Thanks for your support.

Cheers,

Adam

Hi,

You say: «Hope this helps!!». I wish you so.

One more question:
A- when you send the same message to many recipients, do some see body
of message and others no? OR do ALL see message body or NOBODY see it?

After answering this last question, I suggest you start a new thread,
describing your problem, your software and its settings.

These newsgroups are attended by many people of goodwill (who know much
more than I do on Outlook); if you didn't get a faster answer, maybe it
is because readers did not figure out, from your message, what was your
problem. For example, your subject is: Blank emails received and sent??
At fisrt sight, one asks «Why would one send blank messages?»

Best of luck!

Alain

Alain,

Thanks for all of your help.

I believe that EVERYBODY gets a blank email rather than just a selected few.

I will do as you suggest and see what comes of it.

Cheers,

Jonathan
