HELP PLEASE - BEFORE THROW THE PC OUT THE WINDOW

I have a compaq presario 4. something, running xp home, i
find that every day (towards the end of the day as it
happens lol) when i type the words do not come up on the
screan until about 1 min later, there is nothing else
running at the time, (i have tested this area) and it
beeps at me. The letters come up one at a time very
slowly (about 10 secs apart) as you can imagin this is
very very annoying.

Any suggestions, app my cooling fan is fine, but after
this im stumped.

Download Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com), install, update the spybot
signatures and do a scan. Chances are good that spyware has overtaken your
system. (There seems to be a lot of that going around these days.)
