HELP! outlook doesnt refresh

Hi
i've looked everywhere for the solution to this...
outlook2002, exchange2k, winxp

normally when mail arrives there's a little blue number
next to the inbox showing the number of new msgs. now
when mail arrives it does not do this, and it does not
show a pop up notification even tho i've enabled this.
the only way to check if mail has arrived is to click on
any folder eg, contacts or sent items and then click back
to the inbox. also when i send items a little blue
number shows next to the outbox showing how many msgs are
being sent. this does not go away even tho the msg has
already been sent. the only way it disappears is if i
click on another folder.

this is extremly frustation as i dont know when new mail
has arrived and i have to check for new mail manually.
I've posted about this prob on another ms newsgroup with
no one being able to help. the only reply i got was from
ppl experiencing the same problem.

i can believe there's no kb for this!
 
It sounds like UDP is getting blocked somewhere between Outlook and your
Exchange server. The following articles outline this issue.

Thanks for that greg, i've been pulling my hair out over
this one. Followed the steps in kb815052 and is now
fixed.
