I use XP-pro at home and each family member (7) has their own user account.
To keep my disk drive free of unnecessary temporary internet files I run
clean-up regularly. However, I noticed that this only cleans the files in
my user account. It is very time consuming to go into each user account and
run disk clean and trying to get my kids to do this regularly is a hopeless
cause. Is there a utility that will clean all temporary internet files etc
for all accounts that I can run as the administrator?

Thanks in advance

What about using Internet Options> Temporary Internet Files> Settings to
point everyone's browser cache to the same folder? Unless NTFS starts
hiding other people's temp files from you, you would be able to remove all
of them with Disk Cleanup or Delete Files in Internet Options.

Also... I recently changed my browser setting (Internet Options> Advanced)
to remove all TIF files whenever the browser is closed. So far I like the
setting and really like not having to remember to clean the cache
periodically.

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for the tips I think I'll try them.

Can you tell me what the TIF files are used for?

Thanks,

Mike

Web pages are "composite" documents - small parts to make a whole. When you
browse to a site, files download to your browser's cache - the Temporary
Internet Files folder if using IE. The page author has written "directions"
for how the parts should be displayed. The browser interprets those
directions the best that it can and renders the pieces as a single page for
your viewing.
