I unchecked that box on internet explorer that comes up
when you download. I think it says "always ask before
downloading this file" so now every time i download a zip
file it doesnt say save to disk or open. How do I set
Internet Explorer to ask me before downloading the file?

Nothing to do with IE. Open any ordinary drive window. Select folder options
from the Tools menu and click the file types tab. The window may take a few
seconds to populate with the file types on your computer. Scroll down the
list until you see the ZIP extension (it's going to be very nearly at the
bottom of the list) click it and hit the 'advanced' button. Check the
'confirm open after download' box. OK out.
