For some reason my computer will shut itself down. The Power Suppy is
good, the fan on the CPU is good. Here's some specs so you might be
able to figure this one out (I'm stumped):

Machspeed Motherboard
Athlon 2400+ (Not overclocked)
7768 MB DDR 2100 RAM
350 watt Antec PS
Geforce 4 4800 TI video card
1 CD Burner
1 DVD Burner
1 Floppy drive
2 IDE Drives
1 Serial Hard Drive- for video
1 SCSI Hard Drive- for video

3 mods- 2 UV Lights, 1 LED Fan on side
1 Rear Exhaust fan

I unplugged the lights & LED Fan in case it was "not enough power", but
it still happens.

Is the PS Going or over-worked? OR is it maybe the motherboard going??

Very confused!!

Any ideas would be appreciated.

And twice when it's happened I come home from work to find it off but
giving 2 beeps. Both long, one High, one Low. Like a siren.

that sounds like an overheat shutdown.....

It is summertime you know... I fried a non overclocked 1800+ last summer
due to lack of cooling.

Go here: http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm

Find out what BIOS you have and look at the navigation bar in the
upper right corner of the page titled: "BIOS Beep Codes"

No need. The overheating signal is universal. He needs more cooling ASAP.
In fact, he shouldn't be running it at all until he does - every time he
runs without adequate cooling he shortens the life of the processor.

For all the drives, etc. you have in the computer, your power supply unit is
too underpowered! I would recommend the Antec 550 Watt Tru Power for that
load. Before you do any permanent damage.

Aye! Definitely an excellent suggestion. I already unplugged the
lights & an extra fan. So far so good for now. Been shutting it down
at night & when I'm gone. But a bigger PS is what I'm thinking.
As they say "MORE POWER!!"

So when will we all have to start looking into nuclear reactors as a
power supply?? :)
