Help No sound

Hi could anyone help? I was updateing my xp sp and I lost all sound, (it says
no drivers are installed for this device) and can not use the dig cam either
now...
I have tried everyting and nothing seems to work?
Is there anyway of finding out if my sound card packed it in? if its not
that any ideas on the sound

Which SP ? What soundcard ?

Have you tried downkloading the latest XP specific drivers from the
manufacturer's website and installing them ?

What do you mean you "have tried everything?"
Did you try unplugging the sound card and reinstalling in another slot-
while PC is off? XP should 'discover' your newly installed hardware and ask
or install the drivers for it.

Have you scanned your pc for infected files lately? I had my first AV file
detection last week of a TSAD.dll file infected, which had affected windows
sound volume intermittently, described as "volume restore".

This probably has nothing to do with your problem, but just thought I would
mention it, FWIW.

It could be the updates created your problem; have you checked to see what
they affected?

I have the "no sound" problem. I have seen no message but have upgraded to XP
Are the XP drivers related to the sound card (my initial assumption) - or
the speakers. I tried the manufacturer's website for the card - Analog
Devices. I could not find what I was looking for.

It looks as if Analog Devices manufacture the circuitry, then sell it to
other companies to use when building PCs. Updated drivers may be available
directly from the manufacturer's website (e.g. Dell, Sony etc).
