Help No Sound and I cannot change IRQ's

I just got a new system put together and I thought i would
try the onboard sound and save myself some money....of
course the AC'97 is not working for me and I cannot get it
to work so i put in an old sound card i had from my other
comp. Its a Creative AudioPCI which after install worked
fine but after i restarted comp I no longer have sound and
i have my Sound, Video and Nic all on irq 11 and i cant
change this. I disabled both the onboard sound and video.
If anyone can please help me i would appreciate it.

Specs- P4 2.0 ghtz, 512 ddr ram, Gforce 4, running on
Windows Xp Pro.

I usually start unplugging cards and disabling BIOS stuff
to jiggle the IRQ's around, btw SoundBlaster stuff thinks
it owns IRQ 5 and putting it on IRQ 5 can often stop
problems.
