help network disappeared

I was updating Mcafee & rebooted, computer hung so I powered off & on. Now
no network. I removed all Mcafee S/W
I have a cable modem & dlink router. All other computers work. Mine can not
even see dlink settup page. I fiddled with many cables & other computers &
my system still not work.

Even when I dial in to an ISP with modem no network can be seen. This is
what I find really strange. Any suggestions would be greatfully received.

I'm demoted to my p166 win95 PC :-(

Don't know if this helps your prob, but we updated Mcafee
Wed. 8-6-03
The mcafee update killed dialup connection and print

Mcafee cost us alot of money!!

Thanks Tim,
Both my dialup & modem conection died after the McAfee upgrade.

I thought I had removed every trace of McAfee But when I put this new DLL
in I got

the mcafee winsock filter detected that your windows sockets protocols were
changed or upgraded
however while attempting to reconfigure the winsock filter for these
changes there was an unexpected error 126.
Please report this error to Mcafee technical support

You can't get rid of it &^&^**

I might reinstall McAfee with new DLL & see if that works. Or maybe try
Norton. But after struggling for 2 days, I'm going to the cottage &
forgetting it for a week.
