I'm attempting to set up a new laptop on my company's
network. As we use a domain, I have set all settings
exactly as my desktop, which is Windows 2000 Professional
(with the exception of the last digit of the IP address)
My problem is that I cannot log onto the network. I get
an error message stating that windows cannot obtain the
domain controller for your computer network.
I believe it's a problem with the addresssing, as I cannot
ping any other machines on the network. However, in
looking at the properties of the LAN connection, the IP
address looks correct, and I am showing sending some data,
yet none received.
The notebook has a wireless network card in it, but I have
disabled the card in my attempt to troubleshoot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Erik
