I can't see anywhere how to record using XM Player. I am sure I read in here
earlier that it records sounds from the Internet.. Where is the button to
start recording?

Open the playlist and right-click on the file or stream currently
playing. Choose "write to disk."

Thanks Mike but how do you use XM Player to listen to the stream in the
first place? If I listen to say Yahoo LaunchCast it has its own player.

That's a tricky one. Many sights like Yahoo, don't want you to use 3rd
party players that won't allow them to bombard you with advertising.

In many cases (haven't tried Yahoo) what I do is clear out all the
temporary internet files. Then, I go to the site and beging playing the
stream. If the stream starts with advertising, wait until the actual
music starts. You only have to listen for a few seconds. Then close
out the XM Player and look throughout all your temporary internet
folders. Sometimes it takes a little searching, but you should find in
one of those files, the exact path to the stream. Then simply create a
..pls file using notepad and save it as a favorite.

I've had real good luck listening to my favorites in Live365 and pasting
the URL into the XM Player.

If that doesn't make any sense to you, I can try to find it for you.
Just let me know that "station" that you like on Yahoo and I'll try to
capture the URL and create a .pls file for you. Then all you'll have to
do is click on the file and begin to enjoy!

Well, this may be prohibitive in your case, but in my case, I made
XMPlay the default for audio streams and so I simply go to Shoutcast
and play what I want. Or I pick out a few streams that I like and
right click the link and choose "save link to disk," and then rename
it with a descriptive name and .pls extension and can tune in any
time.
