Help Needed with Sequential Numbers!

I'm trying to set up a form in Frontpage. I was asked if I could add a
sequential numbering system. In other words, every time a user visits the
page, in a text box marked "PO Number", a number is displayed. And every
time the user submits the form, the number is included in the form. I've
thought of adding a hit counter to display a number, but it won't be sent
along with the form information. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

Chris

Usually requires some type of server side scripting and a Database

Just thinking out loud here -- but what I would try is using the
autonumber key that Access uses for the ID of each new record.

This doesnt show the ID on the form itself as you wanted, but it
*might* (the part that needs testing) be that when you direct them to
the confirmation page, you include the ID and call it their order
number -- so that right after they submit their form, they get this
page that they can print which shows the data they submitted along
with the "order number"

Like I said, I'm not positive this would work, but it might.
