Hi guys,

having a few problems with my pc since yesterday - had a blaster attack of
viruses and trojans. Had avg on the machine but seemed to get through.

Basically i have installed adaware, windows defender and regcure - as i am
sure there more problems that meets the eye.

it seems to have helped but my explorer is still not working correctly - eg
when you do a google search and click on the search results you get
redirected elsewhere, and also i can not update avg as it wont let me access
their site.

Also they seem to keep coming back and i am scanning virtually 1 scan after
another. Pc is crutial to me as a lot of info for a few companies i work
along with is on it.

My user login in is administrator but it will not let me enter regedit. so i
have set up another id which does allow me to. Other things - pc does crash
from time to time when i connect to the internet.

Please help!!!!!!!

You can try going through these general malware removal steps, but at this
point, you probably would be best served by getting guided help at one of
the specialty forums below OR back up your data and do a clean install of
Windows. It is your choice. If you are unsure how to back up your data or
how to do a clean install, you can take your machine to a local computer
professional. I don't recommend using BigComputerStore/GeekSquad types of
places.

Ron, download, install and update, then scan with Malwarebytes, and Spybot
Search & Destroy.
Do all the work in Safe Mode with Networking, if you are being denied access
to particular sites by the Trojans.
And, throw away any Registry programs!
They do more harm then good.

Also, update and scan with AVG while there.
All info below.

http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html

Spybot Search & Destroy 1.6 is a very good, FREE Anti-Spyware Program.
Download, install, update, and immunize your System with it.
Then SCAN with it.
Update it, and scan your System once a fortnight.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Malwarebytes is as the name says, a Malware Remover!
For the Free version scroll down their page to either download from
Download.com, or Major Geeks.com

Download, install, and update.

Important re: Safe Mode
If you happen to find a problem that you can’t uninstall / delete, reboot
the computer, and go into Safe Mode.
To get into Safe mode, tap F8 right at Power On / Startup, and use UP arrow
key to get to Safe Mode from list of options, then hit ENTER.
RESCAN your computer with your Anti-Virus, Malwarebytes and Spybot S & D
while in Safe Mode.

If unable to install above Programs in Normal Mode:
Sometimes Trojans, Viruses, Malware, etc stop you installing and/or updating
Programs to remove them.
If that happens, reboot into Safe Mode with Networking, and install, update
and scan from there.
