I seem to have a problem with Anti-spy or is it my
Internet Explorer?

I have been using Anti-spy for at least a few weeks and
thought that I'd found a product that does what it says on
the tin. Anti-spy found loads of stuff that others
couldn't and after a few scans and some help from AVG
(virus thingy) I got rid of all the nasties on my
pc,....but

After a couple of weeks I found that my pc had filled up
with alsorts of junk and I needed to delete a load of
files as over 90% of the drive was full. Nothing that
unusal there as my hard drive is frequently under pressure
with a family of six using only 15Gb I have to run through
it frequently. I had severe problems accessing some files
in docs and settings, so bad that the pc would re-start
anytime I went near them! I finally managed to remove them
by going into safe mode (one up for me against the
machine).

Now here's the problem the only way I can get full access
to the net is by re-starting in safe mode. I can get to
all pages in normal mode, but can't log into msn, go
shopping at Tescos or do anything that requires me to
interact instead of read (the only exception I can find is
Yahoo, that will let me log on).

I may be barking up the wrong tree here but I have to have
someone to blame and Anti-spy looks favorite.

I've tried repairing IE (V6, SP1) in Control Panel with no
results.

Oh...I forgot to mention, I did have a previous problem in
trying to follow a web link. For some unexplained reason I
always had to open a link on a new page instead of just a
click.

I've spent the whole of the easter hols trying to get this
sorted and the kids are threatening to leave home....
hmmmmm come to think of it, please anyone reply at your
lesiure, no rush at all!

You are my last best hope, any ideas?

(e-mail address removed)

Thanks

Bob

Hi

Try this "house cleaning":
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Download/Install CCleaner, www.ccleaner.com

- Download/Install Lavasofts Adaware

http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022-10319876.html?tag=list

* Also watch the video from Cnet about Adware within page
for best result.*

- Download Winsockfix, just a precaution if you loose your LSP.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Restart in safe mode, press F8 during reboot

- Run CCcleaner and remove all temporarily junk.

- Run Adaware
