I have to admit that most of my experience is with single domain
LAN's. Now I have a company that has added a second domain on a
different subnet. They want to share resources and I cannot get the
DC's to do that for some reason. There is a 2003 server running AD and
a 2000 server also running AD.
I have the following
DC1 = Win 2003 = DomainA : 192.168.100.x
DC2 = Win 2000 = DomainB : 192.168.40.x
There is a router on the 40 subnet connecting it to the 100 subnet.
I have found confusing info on the internet on what steps I must take
to get these to share resources. I can ping between the servers and I
can ping workstations by address but not FQDN so I'm sure this has to
do with DNS but after this I'm truly lost.
Is there a "how to" somewhere on the net or in books I can use as a
guideline to get this going?
Thanks for any direction...this is driving me nuts and delaying their
use of other resources.
