I need help concerning system restore. I tried several times to run
it, and I've even checked to make sure that it was turned on, but it
still gives me the sign "yor computer cannot be restore, does anyone
know why this happens, and what is the remedy for this?

Daave I clicked on the url but the page seems to complicated for me. I
did run system restore in the safe mode but me pc still couldn't be
restored, but even before I ran system restore in the safe mode when I
rebooted my computer, I got a sign thanking me for installing the
Google Toolbar(which I've had probably a year or two), was welcomed to
Outlook Express(yes,it deleted all my emails on OE), thanked me for
downloading AVG 9.0 , what could cause all this?

What specifically seems complicated? The bottom line is that there are a
number of programs (Zone Alarm and Norton, for instance) that can
interfere with System Restore. But there is a way to circumvent those
problems.

It sounds like you did perform System Restore successfully in Safe Mode.
Which date did you select? It sounds like you went back too far! Note
that Windows XP System Restore is best when going back only a few dates.
Also note that you can always undo a Restore. Maybe you need to do that
and try again, using a much more recent point (preferably immediately
before your problem occurred).

Actually, what was your specific problem? You never said what it was!
Why did you think System Restore was the correct method to solve it? SR
only affects Windows XP's settings.

Daave I was having trouble losing my connection, my laptop is WiFi
and I right clicked the icon in my taskbar and opened the internet
connections in "My Computer" and I must have clicked the wrong there,
because the laptop started acting different after that and system
restore is turned on and you ask what date I selected, it was Nov.10,
1009-but I still got the sign "your system cannot be restored", and I
don't think it says that if the restoration is sucessful.

Thought I would let you know, I Clicked start>Run>typed in control
userpasswords2>set my user & password rebooted now my laptop is back
like it was. Thank you all for your help. The wallpaper is back, my
emails on OE are back, so are the programs I had added to my toolbars.
