Hi,

Wondering if anyone out there can help?

I am trying to fix my parents p.c which is running v. slow and have a major problem in that the control panel is missing and if I try to change anything on the p.c like program access and defaults I get an error message saying:

"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

This obviously is creating a massive problem in that I cannot remove any programs (or should I say rubbish) that my parents have put on th p.c.

I have looked around the internet on different forum threads etc and most people with similar problems seem to have different viruses etc so I have downloaded and run some spyware software which has removed some things but I have not managed to get back the control panel.

When reading other member's problems in this forum, I have seen that it is possible to identify problems etc using the Hijack this program so I have downloaded this and will paste the log below.

If anyone could have a look and advise of any obvious issues it would be so much apprectaied as this is really annoying me now. If you can help, please forgive me if I don't understand any technical jargon etc as although I know a little about p.c's, I am certainly no expert.

Anyway - The details are as follows:

Operating System: Windows XP
Anti Virus Software: Norton
Anti Spyware Software: Adaware2007, A-Watch 2007, Super Anti Spyware, Malwarebytes Anti Malware and AVG Anti-Root kit
Connect to Net by: Virgin Broadband - straight into p.c from modem they supplied(not wireless etc).
Computer Spec:
Motherboard Vendor = Dell Inc
Model Number: 0M3918
Physical Memory: 503MB
CPU Name: Intel (R)Pentium(R)4CPU 2.8Gh
Video Processor: Intel(R)82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset

Hijack this - Log Below:

Hi Folks - Thanks for your replies.

Madxgraphics - I have run the combofix and SuperAntispyware and pasted the logs below. After I had run the combofix my control panel seems to have reappeared which is great so I will start deleting unused programs etc. Could you possibly have a look at the logs below though to advise if you think there is anything harmful there or anything I should remove/amend etc to improve the pc performance.

Thanks - Here are the logs:
