I still have a cursor thank God, but when I tried to change the cursor a
pop-up says that almost all of them are missing or "cannot find"....what's
causing this??? Any cure? I could use the WinXP Home CD but I haven't the
faintest idea how to use it only as a repair tool.

I should add that the cursor file is in the c:\windows folder, so why can't
the start/control/panel/appearance and themes/pointers read it?

Do you have /have you had mouse software installed in the past? I was
getting this error message after updating Intellipoint for a while. The
files were there and worked so I ignored it. After the last update, I can
once again access the Mouse control panel without getting the message.

This is very strange. I was trying to use the "3D Bronze" pointer scheme.
Part of that scheme and most of the other schemes (other than default) are
missing. I can only assume that I lost them when I used PC DocRX a while
back. I haven't tried downloading other cursor programmes. I've also
noticed that my PC is refusing to system restore to most points available in
the list. (I thought that might cure it)

Whilst the c:\windows\cursors folder only has a sprinkling of cursors in it,
I found the whole bunch in c:\windows\backup\cursors..! Is there an easy
way to put them back in the first folder or can I simply rename the last
folder as the first (if you get my ghist) or... do I have to c.c.p. them
all back into the main folder?
