Help ! My documents deleted during xp reinstallation

I had to reinstall XP pro and although I chose to install into a different windows folder, I lost my document and settings folder. My documents (and my life) is contained in that folder can anyone help me recover that data???

I can't help, but I hope it's clear now that you should be doing backups to
removable media of some sort. It's one of those "I'll do it tomorrow"
things. Now it's tomorrow.

you may be able to get "some" back with a 3rd aprty disk recovery
tool....chances get less and less as you use the computer more
 
Just get it from one of your backups.
