4 days ago, while checking email at a university website, my computer froze.
Windows manager popped up but the computer froze. But something was going on
since the hard drive light was flashing all the time. If I restart, it goes
to the accounts page; neither keyboard or mouse will operate.
If I restart in safe mode, keyboard and mouse do not operate. If I try to
restart in safe mode with c: prompt, the keyboard and mouse still do not
operate. Yet the computer is busy doing something.
When I disconnect from the internet, I can get as far as my individual
account then it freezes.
I called Microsoft and was advised that I would find a way to get my
keyboard and mouse operational again so that I can scan from their website,
but none of the documents seem to apply as I do not get any error messages.
My keyboard and mouse work on my friend's computer, so this is not a hardware
issue. Does anyone know what document I need to read?
Does anyone know what virus/trojan/worm I am dealing with? My Norton and
Lavasoft did not detect it on my scheduled scans.
