Hey all!

Is there anyone out there with an MSI TV@nywhere MASTER TV tuner card than
can lend a hand? (Must be the MASTER version of the card).

Because the tuner chip on this card (MT2050) is fairly new there isn't much
in the way of third party support yet. This means I'm stuck with MSI's 2.x
version of Intervideo's WinDVD recorder. It will not remember that I've
chosen CABLE or CANADA and when I hit Autotune nothing happens.

If somone with this card installed and working properly could do me a favour
and export their "HKCU\Software\Intervideo" registry folder and then change
their Antenna and Country settings and export again, I'd REALLY appreciate
knowing what entries are changed. I haven't been able to locate this myself.

MSI was very quick to reply to my questions but all they say is that the
card is broken. This is almost certainly just a software issue.

One other thought... I may be missing a file that desribes the frequency
range for the TV tuner for each country (as well as default range). I figure
this may be the issue since even the "freescan" doesn't do any scanning.

Could someone do a registry search or file search for anything containing
"Afghanistan". This is the first country in the list for this software.
(This might just be the country list from Windows, but I'm hoping!)

Did you install from the CD or from the downloaded 3 big files from the
site?

Tried to do both... No difference unfortunately.

Going to end up building another PC this weekend and see what happens there.
It's RMA time if it don't work there either.

Did you uninstall the CD software, reboot, uninstall the drivers in device
manager, reboot, cancel the Windows driver install, install the new drivers,
reboot, let XP install them automatically, reboot, install the new tv app,
reboot, then try it?

err.. I mean that's what I did..

Going to bench this stupid card for a few days and try in a fresh machine to
make sure it is software. MSI is still saying that it's a hardware problem.

I'll be interested to hear.

Tossed it into a freshly built/installed PC and exact same issue.

I guess there must be some kind of memory on the card to remember
antenna/cable and country settings.

MSI has advised me to RMA the card, which I'm going to do today.

Take care!

No help - just sympathy!

I too am about to return a msi tv @anywhere master as being
theoretically excellent - but really only any use as a door stop. I
have tried everything I can think of - including waiting for MSI to
fix the software. I have even bought a new MB and CPU because the card
stopped the first system booting at all.

The card just doesn't work properly in lots of major ways - no memory
for settings - cannot do sound when on antenna from VCR or cable. (The
list of bugs and funnies is endless). My supplier (Komplett UK) have
finally offered a refund. Trouble is, it'll cost £10 to return it and
then I'll have nothing - you feel there should be a fix just around
the corner! I have a new list of things to try and if I have any
success I'll post it - I suspect it is going back though.

to reply direct take changethis out
