HELP!!!*modem talks*

im currently a trainee at a computer shop and a customer
has requested a program!i havent even heard of being able
to do it but he insists you can do it, the program allows
you to dial a number from your computer to a mobile or a
home number!and he can talk through a mic and they can
talk to each other like they were both on a phone, but
one is talking through the internet or something and the
other is talking through a phone. can anyone please help
me on what program can do that!and if it is downloadable
where i can get it from! thanks in advance!

What you're talking about is called "voice over ip". Its a new
technology, and there are various competing products. It's an
emerging technology, so you should do a bit of reading first.
