HELP!modem auto connecting

Can anyone help me to find out which program is trying to
connect to the net every time i turn on the comp'.Ive
resorted to disabling the modem until i need to use it. I
have been into every option of the programs i have
running and cannot find the culprit.Even ctl-alt-del but
still no luck.

Click START|RUN and type "msconfig" (no quotes) <enter>
and see what's listed there. Programs can be selectively disabled.

However, there are many places in the registry where programs can be started.

Installation of a firewall may also pin down the culprit that is
requesting dial-up access. One that's popular...
