I try to install the Update Auto Update-Client on a PC,
and I recieve an error-message: Microsoft Windows Update
Auto Update requires Windows 2000 SP2 or Windows XP.
I have tryed on a PC with W2K SP3 and on Win XP SP1 and
recieve the same error-message in both cases. What do I do
to solve this problem???
..

Win2k SP3 and XP SP1 should have the client already - this is why the
message is saying you need SP2 (or less). Go to control panel - and if
automatic updates is there then it is.

I'm guessig what your trying to do is configure the
automatic updates to connect to an software update
Service server. This part is done through system policy,
either local or domain. You have to add that template to
the policy\computer configuration\administrative
templates\windows components\ Just right click
administrative templates choose and choose add and the
wuau template is the one you want to add. Then you will
be able to configure it your way. There is good white
paper on this at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/sus/susdeploy
ment.mspx

-Forgive me if I miss understood your question.

i have a problem where i cannot get the clients to pull
from the sus server is their any way that it can be done
without messing sround with the registery like the
windowsupdate.microsoft.com site, also when i use a gpo
it still wont pull help !!!
