Hello
I am assuming that you know how to get into your bios. My pc is home made so on mine as soon as my windows saves it's settings and goes to the dark screen, I hit delete and it takes me to the bios. On a laptop I am not sure. If your bios is similar to mine you will find what you are looking for in ADVANCED BIOS FEATURES. Where it says first boot device floppy. Scroll down to that and hit enter. It should then take you to an option list. Scroll to cd-rom and hit enter. This should set your cd-rom as the first boot. Then hit ESC to go back to the main menu of bios. There is probably a feature in the main menu to save the new setting and exit. Then you hit that feature with your enter key. Make sure there is a Y for yes flashing otherwise it won't save the setting. Once you hit enter again it should start booting up. I would let it boot up completely to your windows screen. Put your windows cd into the rom and hit restart. This should do it unless laptops are different from desktops on these things I have said. I learned how to do this the hard way when my ME program crashed. I was fortunate to have a full version of windows XP PRO to do just what I have told you. Keep in mine that everything in the bios mode works with the key board only, no mouse. Arrows, enter, and esc keys are the main one's I had to use. I hope this helps, please reply back and let me know. Nick

Careful- many laptops have a "Restore" CD, that not only contains your
windows files, but all the drivers, etc particular to the operation of your
computer. By formatting your drive and installing Windows from a retail CD,
you may end up with a mess.

However, if you are sure you want to got forward, and you don't have a
manual, go to the manufacture website and download one. It should tell you
how to access the BIOS (on most desktops, it's the "delete" key during
startup). The only thing you would need to change is the boot device
sequence- make the 1st device the CD. When your done, change it back to the
original order.

Good Luck
