Hi, I have a canon ip6600 printer, and I got a memory card stuck in
the slot. It's pushed back too far for me to reach. Is there anything
I can do? Or will I have to take it to a repair person to fix? I am
quite worried, is this going to permanently damage my printer?

If you are worried about damaging the printer or card, call Canon or an
authorized servicer right away.

If you are not worried about damaging the printer, start to survey the
situation. It might be possible to get at the card from another location,
such as behind the reader assembly. You might be able to snap off the
plastic trim around the memory slots to get more grip on the card.

Whatever you do, don't try to pull or pry at the card with pliers,
screwdrivers or any other tool. Damage to the printer casing would be very
likely, as would damage to the card and reader electronics.

I have this printer the ip6600, had a look at it this morning,
it seems you would need to take it to a qualified repair shop.

If you are confident about doing it yourself it seems possible
to dis-assemble the machine. I would do this myself, but I
have experience in tearing down electronics.

In the manual for the ip6600 they do warn about inserting memory
cards in too far, sems like a design flaw.
