Ok it used to have a normal logon screen then boyfriend got on and now it
doesn't well, i changed the administrative password. Then signed off well 2
weeks later i went to get bk on and it was a different logon screen one that
if u forget the pw it doesn't give any hints. Well i don't remember the pw
and the only other account isnt an administrative so it has no options on
anything. Anyone know how to get bk in. Please help me.

If you have XP Pro on your computer, at the log in screen type
ctrl-alt-delete
twice. In the user account type administrator, leave the password blank and
press enter. You likely didn't create a password for this hidden account
during setup and if the computer was purchased with XP pre-installed it
doesn't likely have one either,

If you have Home, boot into Safe Mode (F8 after the post test and before
Windows starts. Once Windows starts loading, you've missed it and will have
to try again). You'll have an option to log on as Administrator. Again,
the same procedure, you'll be asked to log in to get into safe mode, type
administrator, leave the password blank and press enter.

This will get you in. Then go to Control Panel, user accounts, select the
specific user and select change password. Once you've changed the password
it would be advisable to create a Password Reset Disk by clicking "Prevent a
Forgotten Password" link in the left pane.

Also, check the following about how to make a good newsgroup post:

See the thing is its not the normal logon screen anymore like it used to be
it's not just a little box pops up asking to type ur screen name and pw. And
i have tried the cntrl alt delete thing 2 times like u said and still it does
nothing. As for the password with the administrative account i'm pretty sure
i may have either renamed it to my or deleted the admin account cause ive
tried leaving it blank and then hitting enter at the pw prompt and it says
wrong password blah blah blah, well hopefully someone can help me with this
thank you for your help i do appreciate it.

The hidden machine admin account cannot be deleted or renamed. You may have
created a password for it which, if you don't remember it, you're only
alternative is to search on Google for an application that might help you
recovery a lost or forgotten password but your system has an admin account
named administrator, it's a hidden machine account, it's XP's default
account and it cannot be renamed or deleted.

You may have to type the name administrator in the user name or ID box and
then try to leave the password blank and press enter but if it comes back
invalid, you may have created a password for it and then your only
alternative to formatting and starting over is to search for an app to
recover the password as mentioned above.

I'm sorry, I don't know what to tell you. There are only two login screens
of which I'm aware. One is the welcome screen and the other is the one that
appears when you hit ctrl-alt-delete which may be what you are seeing when
the system boots.

You cannot rename the default account. It's user name is administrator and
the system will not let you rename it, hence, if you renamed an account, it
was not the default system account. Nonetheless, you seem unable to reach
that account, I can only suggest starting over, I have nothing else to
offer.
