help me recover lost excel password,pls??

can someone pls help me?
i have forgotten the password to my excel file
and now i cant remember it.
i search the web and everywhere they asked for payment and some only search
up to 4 characters. i tested the program and it didn't work at all.
i am sure of that as i roughly know my password, but not the whole password
though.
can someone tell me how i can recover the file or the password, pls?

You'll probably need to end up paying to have it cracked. I don't know
any free services that crack over 4 characters.

Nice little program called Free Word and Excel Pasword Recovery Wizard might
be of use. Will perform dictionary recover, trying all words in a dictionary
file. Also it will do brute force recoveryy with upto 8 characters. Note
Time for scans with more than 5 characters are quite slow.
