ok, i made a slide show that loops over and over. i want to get a song to
start with the slide show, but continue after it loops. can i do that??

There are two things here:

Set the sound to loop across slides - for that look here:
http://snipurl.com/soundacross

You can also use Shyam Pillai's free Music Span add-in to do that
automatically: http://snipurl.com/musicspan

PowerPoint will begin the sound from the start again even if the show is
looped - choose a soft music score that loops smoothly even if the music has
to start again.

Here are several free music scores - I'm sure some of them will work for
you:

Hi,

The trick is to insert a Kick Off slide at the beginning of the slide show
to start your music. Next mark slide 2 through the last slide to be a custom
show with automated timing to advance slides. Make sure Slide 1 DOES NOT
have automated timing to advance slide. Set up the slide show to loop until
ESC using automated timings.

When you run the slide show, Slide 1 will start the music and you'll need to
click to go to Slide 2. From that point on, the presentation should loop
through Slide 2 to the Last Slide without resetting the music (unless you
have some other sound stop it between Slide 2 and the Last Slide).

Sure, but I forgot a step. The Set Up Show has to be set to show all slides
and an action item has to be added to the "kick off" slide to start the
custom show. From that point the Custom show will run in a loop until the
ESC key is pressed. Best if saved as a PPS, so ESC dumps the whole thing.
I'm writing it up for Geetesh to post. BTW, the original idea came from the
Spinning Wheel presentation, which came from your tutorial on custom shows.
So see, you started it...

Love it! What goes around really comes around! Let me know when it is up on
Geetesh's site and I'll pull the full instructions from there. (I did catch
your update, so I know about that part.)

Thanks for your help btw.

I made slide 1 a title slide with the music on it. Then, I put slides 2
through 41 (last slide) on a custom show. Then I selected "Loop until Esc,"
but it still goes back to slide 1 and restarts.
