This is the error message. There is no issue with my ISP server or

Like I stated before I can receive, just not send e-mail. I can however
send
from my ISP e-mail page.

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Fw: Microsoft Community
Notification - Help me, Please, Windows mail same question as everyone
else.', Account: 'Charter mail', Server: 'smtp.charter.net', Protocol:
SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Are you connected through Charter?

Then you will have to use the Snet SMTP server unless charter has a way to
access their SMTP server through another port.

Ok, so this is ridiculous. When I first set up my Windows mail to download
from my ISP server, I receive but not send e-mail. Then I checked the box
that my server required authentication and that seemed to do the trick for
about 3 days. Now it won’t let me send e-mails (but I can still receive
them). I also now have an e-mail stuck in my inbox and can’t do anything with
it.
What do I do? I’ve read numerous discussions and no one seems to have an
answer. Do I just need to wait for Microsoft to correct with an update or is
there something I can do to fix the problem now. Oh, and I also created a
new e-mail account and that didn’t work either. I do not want to change my
ISP or my e-mail address. What do I do? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
-Sara

When you try to send, is there an error message? If so, copy it
and post it here.

Are you sure your computer got its internet connection from
Charter when you attempted that send? The reason I ask,
your post is coming from Snet, which I think was taken over
by SBC.

Many ISPs (including Charter) don't allow port 25 SMTP
unless you are actually connected into their network at that
moment.

You are correct. I am not connected through Charter right now. I am using my
office's DSL which is through Snet. Would I be able to change the SMTP #. I
was able to send an e-mail from this connection before. I will have to wait
until I get home to tell if that is the issue.
Can you tell me anything about this one random e-mail that I can not remove
from my inbox?

You could add an additional account that has your normal
Charter email address but uses the Snet SMTP server.
This additional account would be strictly for use at the office.

As far as the stuck message in the Inbox, as long as it is
not interfering with the basic functionality of WinMail, I'd
ignore it for now. Hopefully Microsoft will come out with a
fix for that.

Frank,
Thank you very much, I will try contacting charter. If this doesn't work, I
will be back to let you know.
Thank you again.

PS: any way to delete this e-mail (it won't delete) message says: an unknown
error has occurred.
