I have to do a powerpoint project for school and it is dew tomorrow! I have music in the back round of every slide and when i tested at the computers in school there was no sound. A message came up stating that the sound file in my documents/ My music ect. could not be found. How do I put the music I have on my computer at home to the CD so it will play at school for my project. Do i have to burn the music to the CD and then use the music from that CD to play the music on the powerpoint then save the power point to that CD. I am very confused and i dont want to fail so please help me. Thank you very much if you can solve my problem.

Hi Matt:

Did you make sure to copy the music files into the same
directory as your presentation on the school computer??
You probably need all the orginal files in the same
directory structure as when you created the orginal
presentation.

Good luck!

first of all: "Don't panic!" ;-)

Copy the music file to the same directory in which your PowerPoint
presentation is saved. THEN link to this file. PowerPoint only uses relative
paths (which will not break when copying), if PPT and linked files are in
the same directory.

Then copy BOTH onto your CD.

Depending on your PPT version (which you did not tell us), "Pack & Go" or
"Package for CD" (in PPT 2003) could be helpful. And please take your time
to have a look at http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/, where you'll find many
questions answered.

One last thing: Did you check that the computer or the projector in school
have speakers that will play your music loud enough? Many of those built-in
speakers are VERY tiny. ;-(

Good luck!

Well ... today is tomorrow ... if the above should have helped but another option I needed was to safe the audio as part of the presentation and to ensure that happened it was necessary to change the setting that limits the size for attachments. Then another problem I ran into was how I automated it. It was best for me to put the sound file in the file transition section and set the slide length for the different songs rather than nesting it as a object in the slide

How long have you been working on the project?
