help me get rid of unwanted icons please

hi, when i open internet explorer i seem to have some unwanted icons listed in the tools column bar and want to get rid of them but dont know how. i think i may have accidently downloaded something i didnt want. also the icons appear in my documents folder and every time i delete them from there they reappear when i open up internet explorer. i hope u can help me please as this is starting to bug me. cheers.

In addition, do not open any email attachments. Not even from those you
know, unless you are expecting them.
You may find you will be receiving undue attention from spammers etc. since
posting with your true email address. Just delete any with attachments,
without even looking at them.
