We are running Outlook 2k at work, with roaming profiles, and TONS of
logon scripts to set up all sorts of paths and policies up on NT4.0
(sp6). Since roaming profiles cause so many problems, we often delete
a user's entire profile off the PDC, and this fixes a lot of problems.
This also looses the mappings to personal folders... Today I had a
pretty senior user have some problems with his profile, and I deleted
his profile. Only to find out he had a password on his .pst, but had
checked the "keep this password in my password list" box checked.
Having not used the password in quite sometime, he cannot remember it.
Is there anyway to recover or bypass the password? Are there any
commercial utilities that do this? Thanks!!
Joe

And that's the reason not to check those options ;-)
There is a handy tool to strip the password of a pst-file. The funny thing
is that this tool wasn't even written for stripping the password of a
pst-file but for upgrading the pst-file to a newer format. Stripping the
password was just a (handy) side effect. Don't use this tool for any illegal
activities!!!

Read the pstread.txt file included in the zip before using the utility!
