help...lost a paper assignment.

how do you retreave an assignmentdone on microsft word
processor? i heard it automatically saves your work
every 10 min.s or so. where would i look for it? i
already searched my recyle bin
 
The location may be found in Word, Tools, Options,
File Locations, AutoRecover files.
Click on Modify to see the entire path...

You go to the folder you created to save your assignments in and open it.
You also can go to the disk, floppy or cd, you backed up the file(s) on.
Look for the file name using the Windows Search feature. Your assignment
would be named something like this: Social Studies Mid Term Paper. So you
would search for files named SocialStudiesMidTermPaper.doc.
 
The automatic saves are temp files and backups are bak
files. Set your folder options to show file extensions and
search for temp files and bak in the date range. The file
will likely have a random name.
