I have recently upgraded to win 2000 and the upgrade
didn't exactly go to plan. To begin with the
ntoskrnl.exe file was corrupted in some way and wouldn't
let me boot up. I think I fixed this but now when 2000
boots up and I log on, before the desktop can appear
properly Win 2000 kindly informs me that it is saving my
settings and logging me off. I've never seen anything
like this. If anyone can help me please do, reply to my
Email please

Cheers
Chris

If possible do a fresh install of W2K as I think you will be better of in the
long run. Your problem could be a corrupt user profile, so if possible try
logging on as another user. If that does not help see if you can boot into safe
mode or last known good configuration. If that works you have a problem with
startup program/service/driver and using a copy of msconfig from an XP box or
downloaded from the internet can be used to try selective startup. An upgrade
install is usually a last option before a total reinstall if you are interested
in trying that see the KB link below. --- Steve
