I think I may have gotten myself in a bind here. I had done FE and BE
security and placed on the shared drive. However, my wrkgroup file and FE
shortcut got deleted (my own fault). But there still is one file which I
believe to be the original database (.mdb)...but when I open it I get the
error message that I don't have rights. I tried joining the original
security.mdw file but that didn't work either. Have I completely locked
myself out and lost months of work? Please any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Get the files restored from your backups? You can re-create your mdw if you
kept a record of the unique information you used to create the users and
accounts. Otherwise it's down to purchasing one of the many utilities
available to crack the security.

I fear that you may have just learned the hard way to always work on copies
of your files.

Keith.
