I cannot recommend a specifi card reader. I know nothing about your P/C.
However, the USB based card readers are fairly common, and a decent one
"should" work with common P/Cs.
Exceptions are usually those P/Cs that have vendor installed, vendor
specific versions of XP. These may require drivers from the vendor of the
P/C and/or from the card reader mfr.
I use card readers built into my printers, usually the one built into an
Epson R300M printer. The slots for the memory card include one marked "CF",
and read the card from my HP DX 3900. The printer will, although I seldom
use the feature, print pictures from a memory card without using the P/C it
is connected to.
How old is your camera? 2002? There are many on the market today in the $200
price range that are much better in picture quality, smaller in size, and
don't eat AA batteries for lunch!
Evidently your Camera uses--CompactFlash Type I memory cards
From a web site.
A CompactFlash Type I memory card is a solid-state disk card with a 50-pin
connector. ---.
thanks for your reply......should I be asking for 98/ME drivers then
and what series............. In response to your previous answer from
a card reader .. perhaps it would work ....... but where do I find a
card reader on the net and what do I search for.... (series model,
what type.......... or do the card readers work for all types of
digital cameras)
