This web site claims that you need a registry entry for it to work in
Windows XP.
http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=62707

So if you still have the driver that worked before, maybe this registry
entry will get it ot work again. (Just a guess).

You may have to become a member to download.

The Saphir 2 is a UMax Powerlook rebadged. Windows XP is just slightly
better than Mac OS10 in handling old SCSI devices (OS 10 just won't run
them). I get the same messages on my Nikon LS2000, I just cancel the
message and the scanner works from Twain in Photoshop CS. If you have
installed the drivers try ignoring it. Also with the Nikon I had to
install a version of the Adaptec ASPI driver, available on the Adaptec
site with instructions. That age scanner has SCSI specific card
requirements, generally just Adaptec cards. Linotype will probably
charge for their software, so if it runs on the UMax software that is
good, just not the best driver.

Good luck
Tom
