I suggest you first try this:
[Start]
| Run |
regsvr32 /i shell32
[Enter]
If this does not solve the problem then
I suggest you visit MS-MVP Kelly's website at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Note the instructions at the top of the page,
then scroll down to line 18,
(Search Opens When Double Clicking A Folder)
Right-click the hyperlink, then click | Save Target As |
to download the file, "folderopenssearch.reg",
then double-click the file and follow the prompts.

| This happened all of the sudden. Now when I right-click
| on a folder it does not open but a search window pops
| up. I have to left clck and hit "open" every time, very
| annoying, thanks.
