I've got a 20 GB HD (EIDE), I would like to connect it to the USB port, and
I want to use it like an external hd.

You need a USB external enclosure, 3.5". See the following link for
examples:

If your system supports only USB 1, not USB 2.0, it will run very
slowly.

It will not work. EIDE ports are not compatible with EIDE harddrives.

You will need a USB HDD enclosure. Make sure you get the right size (3.5" or 2.5")
