I am having some difficulty getting a S-ATA drive to operate as
non-RAID on the Promise controller.
I have an existing XP Pro build that I want to put on the Promise
controller acting as ATA and not RAID.
Can someone provide the step-by-step process? I am trying to trouble
shoot problems on the intel controller side and I need to move the
non-RAID S-ATA drive to the Promise controller.
Do I connect the drive to the promise controller first or do I make
changes in the BIOS and install the Promise ATA drivers first? I can't
seem to figure out what exactly needs to be changed in the BIOS. I
don't see options to install ATA drives on the Promise controller. I
only see RAID options. When and what changes are needed in the BIOS?
Please be specific as possible. I'm at a point where I think I need
the step by step walkthrough. This is really frustrating.
Thanks for any help,
Randy
