When using IE6, I may have no problems for a long period of time and then it
will not respond. If I close the window down I'll get a "not responding"
message and a request to send the error report.. which I have been doing. I
may have to shut down the computer to get it to work and sometimes that
doesn't help.. some times it does.

On request from the help desk at my ISP who was not able to help long term..
I added Mozilla to my desktop. When IE shuts down, Mozilla will work fine.

I've kept updated, I believe on IE and OE.. Never had the problem with old
compuer.. this is happening on my laptop Dell 1300 Inspiron, which I'm now
using as a desktop.

Hopfully I've provided enough info.. but, I'm frustrated.. Help apprciated.

I, too, am having the same problem with IE6. I've done everything you listed
below. My new PC is a DELL XPS 400 desk top. My Internet Provider is Road
Runner. I have contaced Road Runner, DELL, and now Microsoft and it doesn't
appear to be their problem with the PC, Server, or software. So, whose
problem is it and how can I fix it? Please help.

I don't know if this will help, but my similar problem was caused by too
many add-ons attached to my IE. I removed many of them and now I am having
no problems. It is running perfectly. If you think this might help, see my
message entitled "IE Add-In's Gone Berserk" that I posted on 5/18/05 at
10:54am.

I also saw in another post that you could download a free program to manage
add-ons. It is called Toolbarcop at http://windowsxp.mvps.org/toolbarcop.htm

Good luck,

Tom

I am having the same problem with my dell e-1505. It's brand new. And for no
reason at all IE locks up. I have to shut it down and reboot. On top of
which, the images and small font on the browsers are fuzzy and not right.
I've been on the phone with tech support from Dell. I got part of the issue
solved. The rest is about the browser crash.

Hi Frank.. It could be.. but, I have McAfee Virusscan working.. I also check
daily for spyware by Trend Micro, Spybot S&D, and AdAware. Use CCleaner and
HDValet for cleanups.

Any other suggestions? I'm leery about installing any more spyware software
as I've heard they find each other.. etc
