Help Identify this virus ?

I did a stupid thing. I deleted a virus without remembering what is was
called. The virus is no longer detected., however I know I am still
infected.

The following are characteristics of what I can't do.
Any items in Control Panel are not Accesible. Right Click on my Computer is
unaccesible. My Start Page & Search Page are going to some goofy site (
typically referred to as SCUMWARE)

I need to know what the heck the virus is to remove all the "errors /
annoyances".

tried system restore yet? If you did not delete restore points, then restore
to a date before the virus dropped its payload, ideally before the day which
the virus was first executed. Scan your system and get rid of the virus, and
hopefully it should solve the problem.

This has all the 'earmarks' of a browser hijacker.......first run
AdAware 6 or Spybot...

then download the program Hijack This from.......

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save
Log" button.

Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]

Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")

and copy and paste the Hijack This LOG (not the Startup List) into a new
message on the following spyware forum......don't post them here. They
are the experts!!
