Help! I want to uninstall recent xpantivirus 2008 protection!

Lastnight I stupidey installed more xp protection (that I may have already
had), but i do have avast and am pleased with that.
My problem is I can't find where to uninstall this darn program, as all it's
pop ups are driving me nuts and interrupting my work.
It said it was free, and it scared me into thinking i had a bunch of
viruses- NOW it wants money for the virus protection of the security part,
and I don't /can't buy it- I want to get rid of it all!
Please help me! Im computer illiterate mostly. Thx Shilo7

This is not the correct group to ask this question.
Sounds like you inadvertantly installed spyware instead of actual
antivirus software.
Avast is a good program, I suggest running a full system scan and also
looking into some adware software, spybot seach and destroy is good,
also try CCleaner
