When I click on a bookmarked link, or go to a URL that ends in .mp3 or
other media files, they open in my IE window (and dont play cause it
doesnt work).

I want them to pop up a window that gives the option to save to disk,
how do I do this?

Thanks!

You set this for each file type, e.g. for .zip
Explorer-View-Folder Options-File Types
Find the .zip association (may be WinZip File)
Edit, (or click Advanced on ME or XP) and check the "Confirm open
after download" box

The confirm after download is already checked.

If I see a media link on a site, normally I right click and "save
targest as" or "open in new window", these allow it to be downloaded
and saved.

The problem was that I saved some media links to a bookmark
("Favorites").
When I clicked the bookmarked link, it opened in that same IE window.

This may be a RAM issue, but it could easily be resolved and I am not
sure if there are updates or add-ons that can do this: when right
clicking on saved bookmarks / favorites, show the options OPEN IN NEW
WINDOW and SAVE TARGET AS. Because I couldnt do that, I had to right
click, send to / mail recipient / email the link to myself and then
right click on it when i got the email, all to get the SAVE TARGET AS
option.

something else regarding bookmarks would be helpful as well - if you
could DRAG links from the window to the bookmark folder, instead of
ADD / ADD FAVORITE / CREATE IN.

What you want to do isn't possible. Once you save a link as a favorite, the
'save target as'' and 'open in new window' options are lost, replaced by
'make available offline' and the option under IE tools, internet options,
advanced to 'reuse windows when browsing shortcuts'.

Why are they lost?

Wouldnt it be a lot easier if those options were not lost (Especially
since IE was incorrectly attempting to play links in the window,
without any "save to hard disk" option.)

And wouldnt it be a lot easier if you could drag links from websites
to your favorites folders?
