Hi
I believe when I installed the recommended Windows update
of Direct 9X end user update, I lost then my CD Drive
anymore.
I have a Dell Latitude C810 with a fix CD Drive and Win2K
Pro.
I did reinstall my CD driver again few times, restarted
each time, disable, etc..., NADA.
Then, I ran Dell diagnostics (5) diskettes, which sees and
tests my CD Drive OK but back to launching WIN2K, normal
or safe boot, no more CD Drive or driver! in the Window
Explorer or the Device Manager. It physically turns for
sure but nothing else.
I, also, mounted a CD/DVD bay, the driver installed at
first and then WIN2K asked to reboot the computer. Then
no more of it, same as the fix CD Drive.
I cannot even reinstall or repair window. It looks like
it is a WIN2K OS problem of not seeing any CD drive.
How can I repair then? Can you help?
Cheers
